The Great Brain by John D. Fitzgerald
A book review of The Great Brain by John S. Fitzgerald
Wow, Well Done! What a great use of technology in the school library. I am currently finishing up a Master's in Library Science from Simmons College in Boston, Ma. This semester I have been taking a course on integrating new technologies into the school library program. This is a perfect example of things we need to do in order to let the world know about the exciting things that happen within the library.
Olive did a wonderful job! Such a smart cat ;-)I'm a librarian in Chattanooga, TN and I'm very impressed with what you all have done! Good job. I'll be back later to see and hear another book review! Thanks!
I appreciated the fact that Olive mentioned what age groups would enjoy reading The Great Brain. Several times I have searched the web trying to verify whether my boys are ready for books I enjoyed as a child.
At the moment that we persuade a child, any child, to cross that threshold,
that magic threshold into a library, we change their lives forever, for the
better. ~~Barack Obama (from a speech to the American Library Association June 25, 2005)
I graduated from UCLA in 1970 with a degree in Art History and then earned my California Teaching Credential from UCLA in 1972. After teaching 4th grade in the inner city for 2 years I moved to Santa Barbara and founded the Santa Barbara Center for Educational Therapy. In 1989, with a desire to return to the public schools, I was fortunate to be hired as a school librarian and I'm starting my 20th year at Cold Spring School.
I have always been a bookworm and love teaching so this is the perfect job for me!
